The House
The Westville Fire Department
serves the Borough Of
Westville in Gloucester County, New
Jersey along the Delaware River
across from the City of
Philadelphia. The departments
operates out of 1 Station with 1
Class "A" Engine Company, 1 Ladder
Company, 1 Heavy Rescue Company, 1
B.L.S Squad, 1 Special Operations
Trailer, 2 Command Vehicles, 2
Marine Units and 1 Fire Boat. 40
volunteer firefighters, 2 career
firefighters, including a Fire
Marshal's Office and Fire Official
make up the department.
The department operates with a Board of Fire Commissioners which provide
funding through taxation to serve
and protect the community. The
borough of Westville consists
residential, commercial, and
industrial areas with 4(four) major
roadways, 1(one) major rail line,
and a major shipping line in the
borough.
Along with protecting those who reside, work, and travel in the
borough of Westville. The
department also covers the New
Jersey Turnpike between Exits 2
through 3 along with serving
numerous communities.
The firehouse is located on the corner of Broadway and Olive
Streets in the south west side of town. The fire house is made up
of two buildings, one building with 3 bays that houses
our Ladder, Engine and Rescue, trucks in this building
we have a state of the art command center, with a newly
renovated bunk room that sleeps 15 firemen long with a,
recreational room that has a large screen TV with
seating for 15. Also in this building is a full bathroom
with 2 showers and a locker room that holds 15 lockers
for firefighters personal items. There is a full
state of the art kitchen with a stove and a dishwasher,
and a large scale dinning table. We also have a full
banquet hall with a bar on the upstairs portion of the
building that holds 168 persons along with a training room for 75
people and a meeting room for 50.
The second building is located in the rear of the firehouse, that
also has three bays that houses our BLS Unit, and are
Marine Units. Along with the office and administration
side of the firehouse works out of this building, this
is where the fire district office is located along with
the fire chief and fire officials offices.
